Michael Wagner, PGA

Michael Wagner, PGA, Head Golf Professional at the University of Idaho Golf Course, has been dedicated to coaching golf since 2011. He works with players across a spectrum of ages and skill levels, ranging from novices to those at an advanced stage. As a PGA Professional and ADM Certified golf instructor, Wagner’s expertise lies in nurturing new and intermediate players. His unique coaching philosophy emphasizes tailoring swings to align with each student’s physical abilities, rather than conforming to a singular model.

A native of Moscow, Idaho, Wagner harbors a deep passion for guiding local golfers to realize their full potential. In his ongoing quest for knowledge, he is currently pursuing a degree in Exercise, Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Idaho. This endeavor reflects his commitment to a holistic approach in coaching, integrating aspects of fitness, biomechanics and sports psychology to support his students both on the golf course and beyond.

Wagner’s enthusiasm for teaching is matched by his eagerness to continue evolving as an educator. He relishes the opportunity to work with motivated golfers of all age groups, aiding them in achieving their ultimate goals. His efforts were recognized in 2023 when he received the prestigious Inland Empire Player Development Award, a testament to his dedication to student improvement. Additionally, Wagner has played a pivotal role in the growth and success of Operation 36 at the Vandal Golf Course, contributing significantly through his instruction and unwavering support of the players.
